Grahamstown, with all its tourist attractions, game farms and nearby beaches, is only about one hour’s drive from Port Elizabeth, the “Friendly City”, which will play host with its brand new stadium to an overseas team during the Soccer World Cup. Settlers Hill Cottages can accommodate up to 10 couples in comfortable en-suite rooms in historic Victorian houses situated in spacious gardens. Both B&B and selfcatering packages are available.
The cottages are centrally located close to Artificers Square. There are 23 National monuments nearby including tiny Settler cottages, charming stone country churches and even alms-houses.
Restaurants, museums, the Cathedral and Rhodes University are within walking distance.
Our cottages have been carefully restored and have high ceilings, sash windows, wooden floors of Oregon or Yellowwood and Oregon doors, many of which have antique lifting locks. They also have beautiful cast iron fireplaces. The lovely period furniture has been collected over many years at local auctions. Most pieces are made of Oak or Teak although there are also Yellowwood and Oregon items.
To ensure the comfort of guests modern conveniences are provided such as hair driers, electric blankets, TV's, heaters and fans and tea & coffee trays.
